Deschapelles Meeting
July 15, 2019

Present:  Carol Macksey, Debbie Cummings, Judy Ruehl, Jeanne Weyers, Diane Thaller, Doris Kehoe, Linda Woodham, Sandy Orr and Phyllis Bishop

Meeting called to order at 2:45 and the minutes of the previous meeting were approved.

Membership Report:  Deschapelles currently has 205 members.
2 Members remain unpaid, but have not played this year
22 Members have dropped out due to illness or have been
                                       unreachable
1 lady listed as a member has never been a member
7 new members have joined since the beginning of the year.
Judy complimented Sue Hermans on her excellent job as the Membership Chair.

Treasurer’s Report:     Beginning July 1st, all games at the CBC have been increased from $7 to $8 including Deschapelles games.
During the Regional, Deschapelles Club takes in no money as there is no game during the Regional.
Currently, Deschapelles has a loss of -$1482.89.  With the increase in entry fees, it is expected that this deficit will be erased by the end of the year.
The Treasurer’s report was accepted.

Judy recommended to the Board that Debbie Cummings be the Deschapelles representative to the CBA Board.  After no objections, a unanimous vote was taken.  Debbie agreed to take the position.  Sandy recommended that Debbie bring to the attention of the CBA Board the lack of revenue to Deschapelles during the Cincinnati Regional due to the cancellation of the game.

Hospitality Report:      Sandy will take care of the staples of potato chips/pretzels, peanut butter and crackers.  Since Sandy will be unavailable most of August and September, Linda Woodham agreed to be the person in charge during August and Phyllis Bishop during September.  Members are encouraged to provide food.
Sandy wanted to extend a special thanks to everyone who has provided food for Deschapelles.

New Business:               Sandy discussed how important it is for those who first greet members each Monday to be friendly.
The Board recommended that during the last round of play an announcement be made thanking those who provided food as well as reminding Members to make reservations.  It is vitally important that Debbie have an accurate count so that boards can be made and tables set.

Reservations can be made by email to Debbie or by calling or texting her.  This is especially vital if Members have not made a reservation during play as too many “walk-ins” cause problems for the Director.

Next Meeting:            October 21st

The meeting was adjourned at 3:25.

Respectfully submitted,
Phyllis Bishop
Secretary
