CBA Board Meeting Minutes

Agenda: Discussion of Table and Game Fees for 2012 and beyond

         We reviewed the approved changes from October’s CBA meeting:

  Increase player fees from $6 to $7.  This only affects the Tuesday evening fee for CBA's game, however, we expect the other sanction holders to do likewise.

  Increase sanction holder rent from $11/table to $12/table for the first 5 tables and $18/table for all additional tables.

  For the CBA Tuesday evening sanction, change the director compensation to a flat $90 for the evening.

  The above changes to be effective 1/1/2012.

         Board members discussed options if sanction holders increase their game fees to $8/person instead of the recommended $7/person.    Several members expressed concerns over a game fee increase of this scale although it was acknowledged that the CBA Board can only mandate the table fee charge.   Kay expressed her concerns that the increase in table fees with game fees at $7/person would result in a significant income reduction for many of our directors.  Adrienne commented that the CBA Board should consider giving the sanction holders more time to prepare for the adjustment in income at a minimum.    Mike Lipp commented that ultimately if our expenses do not significantly change, the original October proposal should go into effect.

         Mike Purcell suggested amending the October rate change to start in 2013 and go to a flat $15/table for 2012 to give sanction holders additional time to adjust to the change in income in exchange for keeping game fees at $7/person.  There was an informal agreement to have Potter Orr consult the sanction holders to see if this compromise would be acceptable.  If so, the CBA Board would formally approve this amendment to the October approved changes in the January CBA Board meeting.
